About NCS Mumbai

Navy Children School is a co-educational school for classes from Stds I to XII and is located in the Navy Nagar at Colaba. This school was commissioned on 14 November 1989 by Mrs. Krishna Jain, President, Naval Wives Welfare Association and follows CBSE curriculum.

Founded in 1984, it is run by the Navy Education Society NES and administered by the Headquarters, Western Naval Command. It prepares pupils for examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education.

The Navy Children School aims at the overall development of each student’s personality, laying emphasis on the inculcation of a rational outlook. The school endeavours to achieve academic excellence amongst the students and the development of an insatiable thirst for knowledge. It also aims at promoting the basic human values of life.

Our Vision

1. To be a leading school in India which grooms children of the Naval Community to be individuals with active and creative minds. To nurture in students, a sense of compassion and basic human values as they learn and acquire life skills.

Our Mission

1.A systematic improvement of the infrastructure and providing modern future ready school building in advent with the latest technology for better learning to help provide orderly atmosphere that is conducive to learning throughout the building.

2. To develop a thinking language centre and development of language lab. 3To make students more sensitive to relevant social issues so as to make them into contributing global citizen.

3.Counselling sessions with students to check cases of anxiety stress or lack of confidence. and also to address teenage problems. In addition, facilitate education to special children with disabilities/ limitation through problem solving activities.

4. To make the lesson as interesting for the pupils as today‟s show while ensuring development of visual, spatial, verbal, linguistic, mathematical, logical and musical intelligences along with the bodily kinesthetic through close monitoring and guiding at every step. This process also requires total involvement of the parents because the process of education in this system does not stop after school hours, but it continues at home as well.

5. It will provide activity based teaching in the true spirit of the CCE with emphasis on exploring all aspects of student's personality and intelligence.

6.The schools will introduce various streams, specializations to facilitate availability of subjects/courses to meet requirement of changing needs in the system.

7.Various skill-enhancing activities like basic electronics computer animation/graphics/ programming, food preservation etc will be included in the curriculum. Special activities will be designed to inculcated respect for the environment remedial classes.

8.Aptitude tests to identify subjects of interest of students.

9.Equipped auditorium will be constructed to shows, presentations, debates, symposiums, seminars and conduct of career counseling for students.

10.Enhance Parent-Teacher interaction for confidence building measures.

11.To develop students into responsible harmonious, integrated individuals through our evolving curricular and co-curricular activities.

12.To prepare proud and capable citizens of tomorrow to take up challenges with a sound intellectual base, character, moral values, knowledge and competence in a changing world.

13.Building on a legacy of distinction, to serve as a model for effective teaching and learning in a dynamic educational environment where students achieve their maximum potential and gain a love of lifelong learning, and teachers excel in pedagogy, stimulating young minds and encouraging them to extend excellence beyond the classroom.
